Your Visibility Score Is 0% but Your Site Is Cited
Understand why a 0% visibility score can coexist with real citations for the same prompt.

You're looking at a prompt with a 0% visibility score, but you know, or you've manually checked, that your site is showing up as a source in the AI's actual answer. This is not a bug.
Why this happens
Visibility and citations are two different metrics, tracking two different things:
- Visibility measures whether your brand name was mentioned in the AI's answer text. If the AI never names your brand, that run scores 0, even if it used your website as a source behind the scenes.
- Citations (under the Sources tab) measure whether your website was used as a source the AI drew from, regardless of whether it named your brand out loud.
For the full breakdown of how each metric is calculated, see the visibility vs. citations article.
Where to actually see this
- Sources tab: shows every URL and domain cited across your tracked prompts, including your own site, whether or not your brand was named in the response.
- Dashboard → Recent Chats → Brand Mentioned: filter to see the exact AI conversations where your brand was actually named, so you can see the difference between "mentioned" and "cited" side by side on real examples.
- Per-prompt detail view: click into any individual prompt to see its citation list alongside its visibility result for that run.

The takeaway
A 0% visibility score on a prompt doesn't mean AI Peekaboo found nothing valuable happening there. Check the Sources tab for that same prompt before assuming there's no upside, being cited without being named is still real, measurable value, and it's often the first sign that a prompt is worth optimizing content around.
