If you're waiting for an email to tell you something changed, it isn't coming yet. Here's what actually gets sent today, and how to stay on top of changes in the meantime.
What emails exist today
Only two transactional emails exist right now:
- Your report is ready: sent once, when a free or onboarding report finishes
- Welcome email: sent once, after you complete checkout on a paid plan
That's the full list. Neither of these repeats on a schedule.
What does not exist
Four practical ways to stay on top of changes
- Check the dashboard on a rhythm that matches your tracking frequency. If your brand refreshes daily, a quick look each morning catches most movement. If it refreshes every 2 days, check on that cadence instead of daily, there's often nothing new to see in between.
- Use a client share link as a standing check-in point. A share link stays live and current, so bookmarking it (yours or a client's) turns "check Peekaboo" into a habit rather than a login. See Client share links.
- Pull data into Looker Studio for a recurring view. If you already review other metrics on a schedule, adding Peekaboo's Looker Studio connector puts visibility data in the same place, so the check-in happens naturally alongside everything else.
- Script a periodic pull with the API. If you want something closer to an alert, the REST API can be polled on your own schedule, from a spreadsheet macro to a small script that flags a score drop. This is the closest thing to a real alert until one ships natively.
None of these are a substitute for a real notification system, but together they close most of the gap until proactive alerting exists.
Frequently asked questions
Will Peekaboo email me if my score drops or a competitor overtakes me?
No, that alert does not exist today. Only a one-time report-ready email and a paid-plan welcome email are sent.
Is there a weekly or monthly digest email?
No recurring digest exists yet. Checking the dashboard on your tracking cadence is currently the way to stay current.
What is the closest thing to an alert available right now?
Polling the REST API on your own schedule and flagging changes yourself is the closest substitute for a native alert.
How should I keep a client updated without a native alert system?
A bookmarked client share link works well as a standing check-in point, since it always reflects current data without needing a login.
