Compare 8 AI Overview trackers on how they cover Google's AI summaries, what they cost at a realistic size and who each one suits, from agencies to enterprise teams.
AI Peekaboo is the best AI Overview tracker for agencies that need to show several clients where Google's AI summaries name them, and which pages Google cites instead. SEO teams that want AI Overviews sitting next to classic rankings in one suite should pick SE Ranking, and teams already in Semrush should start with the AI Overview tracking in their current plan.
An AI Overview tracker answers a narrow question: when someone searches something your buyers search, does Google's AI summary mention you, link to you, or send that attention to a competitor? Search Console can't tell you that on its own, and a manual check only shows one moment. A tracker keeps a history, so you can see whether a change is a trend or a bad day.
The eight tools below all track AI Overviews, but they come at it from different directions. Some are AI visibility trackers built around prompts, some are SEO suites that added AI Overview data to rank tracking, and one is an enterprise platform. I've judged them on what matters when AI Overviews are the job: how they track Google's summaries, what you pay at a realistic size, how they handle several brands or clients, and who each one suits. AI Peekaboo is first because it's the pick for agencies. The rest run from SEO suites to prompt trackers to enterprise.

The best AI Overview trackers, reviewed
1. AI Peekaboo: best for agencies tracking AI Overviews for several clients
AI Peekaboo works well when AI Overviews are something you report on for clients, not just check for yourself. Its AI Overview tracker follows the prompts you choose for each brand, shows which competitors Google's summary mentions and lists the pages it cites. You can track AI Overviews on their own or add the other AI platforms when a client asks about ChatGPT or Gemini too.
What matters most for an agency is that each client is its own brand, with its own prompts, competitors and dashboard, all on one bill. When a client asks why their score dropped, you can open the score, read the AI Overview answer behind it and see which page took the spot.
Key features
Choose up to 7 AI platforms: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and Claude API. There's no fixed set, so you can start with AI Overviews alone.
Give every client brand its own prompts, competitors and dashboard, and open any score to read the answer and the sources behind it.
Pitch prospects with unlimited pitch workspaces, which use one extra brand slot.
Get prompt suggestions, recommendations and content briefs that point your writers at the pages worth creating or updating.
Share read-only client links, pull data into Looker Studio or the API, or ask questions about your clients' visibility from Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor through the hosted MCP server.
Connect GA4 and Google Search Console so each client's AI visibility sits next to its site traffic.
Pricing
You build the plan from four choices: how many brands, how many prompts each brand gets, which AI platforms you track and how often the prompts run. Plans start at $30 a month, and the price changes as you move each setting. A few example plans from the AI Peekaboo pricing calculator:

Annual billing saves 15%.
White-label reports and client share links come with plans at $100 a month or more.
There's no per-seat charge, so your whole team can log in.
Every brand in the account runs on the same schedule.
New workspaces with at least 10 prompts per brand and a monthly price below $100 can get a 14-day card-backed trial.
Who should choose it
Choose AI Peekaboo if you run an agency and AI Overviews are part of what you report to clients each month. You can price the exact client list you have, add a brand when you sign one, and send each client a link or a branded report once the plan reaches $100 a month. If you're a single brand that just wants to know whether Google's AI summaries mention you, and what to fix to show up more, the smaller plans cover that too.
Skip it if you want one subscription for rank tracking, site audits and backlinks as well as AI Overviews. SE Ranking or Semrush fits that better. If you need enterprise security controls and a large agent layer, Profound is the stronger choice.
2. SE Ranking: best for SEO teams that want rankings and AI Overviews in one suite
SE Ranking treats AI Overviews as part of rank tracking, which makes sense if you already think in keywords. Its AI Overviews Tracker shows whether a keyword triggers an AI Overview, whether your site appears inside it and where, which other domains get featured, and cached copies of the results page. It also covers several countries and languages, so a team with more than one market can filter by region.
If your team already lives in a rank tracker every morning, this is the least disruptive way to add AI Overviews. You see the classic position and the AI Overview presence for the same keyword side by side. The AI Search add-on then extends tracking to AI Mode and ChatGPT for teams that want more than Google. Our SE Ranking AI visibility tracker review covers the wider product.
Key features
See which tracked keywords trigger an AI Overview, whether your site is cited and your position inside it.
Check which domains and URLs Google uses as sources, grouped into types such as media, blogs and forums.
Compare your classic rankings and AI Overview presence for the same keyword in one view.
Track AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT for 200 prompts with the AI Search add-on.
Pull data through the API or MCP, and feed reports into Data Studio, Whatagraph or AgencyAnalytics.

The AI Search add-on costs €79 a month, or €63.20 a month billed annually. It includes 200 prompts and tracks AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT.
The Agency Pack adds white-label reporting and 30 client seats for €59 a month, on annual billing only.
The 14-day free trial needs no credit card and includes 20 AI prompts a day.
Who should choose it
Choose SE Ranking if you're an in-house SEO team or a small SEO agency that wants AI Overview data inside the same tool that tracks your rankings and audits your site.
For an SEO agency, the Agency Pack's 30 client seats and white-label reporting make SE Ranking a real option too. If AI visibility is the main thing you sell and you don't need the SEO suite, AI Peekaboo is built around client brands from the start.
3. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: best for SEO teams already working in Semrush
If your team already runs keyword research and position tracking in Semrush, start there. Semrush's Position Tracking shows your rankings on Google, your appearances in AI Overviews and your mentions on AI platforms such as ChatGPT and AI Mode for the keywords and prompts you set. Its Organic Rankings report also shows which keywords in your portfolio trigger AI Overviews and whether your domain is cited in them.
The AI Visibility Toolkit adds the AI layer on top: an AI Visibility Score for any domain, competitor and prompt research, brand performance reports on sentiment and share of voice, and a site audit that flags blocked AI crawlers. I think it's the sensible first step for a Semrush team, because you avoid a second tool with its own exports and logins.
Key features
Track AI Overview appearances for your keywords in Position Tracking, next to your normal Google rankings.
See which keywords in your portfolio trigger AI Overviews, and whether your domain is cited, in Organic Rankings.
Benchmark any brand with the AI Visibility Score and find AI search topics to target in Prompt Research.
Read sentiment, share of voice and the narratives AI platforms attach to your brand in Brand Performance.
Check whether your site blocks AI crawlers in the AI search site audit.

Semrush's help center lists two extras in USD: 50 more prompts for $60 a month, and $99 for each extra user license.
White-label reports come with the Pro Report add-on at €19.18 a month.
Who should choose it
Semrush makes sense if your SEO team already pays for it and wants AI Overview data in the reports you already send. You can start from the keywords you already track, so there's no prompt list to write first.
Look elsewhere if you need to track many client brands with their own prompts. Paying per domain and per user gets expensive as the list grows, and AI Peekaboo is the more direct fit for agency reporting. If you want rankings and AI tracking in one suite but don't use Semrush yet, compare SE Ranking first.
4. Ahrefs Brand Radar: best for SEO teams researching competitors in Ahrefs
Ahrefs Brand Radar is the tool to pick when you want to research the market before you decide what to track. Its AI Visibility Index covers more than 490 million prompts run through AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, with no setup. For Google, it also tracks short search queries that trigger an AI Overview or AI Mode answer and whether your brand appears in them.
The index shows who Google's AI names in your category and where you're missing, before you've picked a single prompt. Once you know, you can add custom prompts and check them daily, weekly or monthly. Our Ahrefs Brand Radar review goes deeper on the research side.
Key features
Research any brand or competitor in the AI Visibility Index without setting anything up first.
See the Google searches that trigger AI Overviews and AI Mode answers, and whether your brand shows up.
Track custom prompts on AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, daily, weekly or monthly.
Use the included custom prompt checks on Lite, Standard and Advanced plans before buying more.
Try Ahrefs' free AI Overviews tracker for a limited preview of how AI Overviews mention and cite your brand, with no sign-up.

One check is one prompt on one platform in one location, so daily tracking uses checks quickly. Five prompts checked daily on one platform use 150 checks a month.
Lite includes 1 user, and you can add up to 2 more at €37.40 a month each.
Who should choose it
Ahrefs Brand Radar is the right pick if your SEO team already works in Ahrefs and wants to study AI Overviews across your category, not just a fixed list of prompts. Ahrefs itself says the index works best for established brands and topics with real search demand.
It's a weaker fit if you mainly want AI Overviews next to your keyword rankings. SE Ranking or Semrush does that inside the rank tracker, and the checks, seats and index all price separately at Ahrefs.
5. Otterly: best for small teams starting with daily checks
Otterly is the easiest way into daily AI Overview tracking on a small budget. Lite, Standard and Premium all track ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot daily, and Lite starts at €29 a month with 15 prompts and unlimited team members.
A small team doesn't have to decide on frequency or platforms here: Lite tracks four engines daily from day one, with brand visibility, sentiment, citation sources and a few recommendations each week. The 15-prompt limit is the trade-off, so it suits a short list of the searches that matter most. Our Otterly AI review covers the plans in more detail.
Key features
Track Google AI Overviews daily alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot on every plan.
See brand visibility, sentiment and the sources cited in each answer.

Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid extras. AI Mode costs €9 a month on Lite.
You can add 100 extra prompts for €99 on Standard and Premium.
The 7-day free trial needs no credit card.
Who should choose it
Otterly suits a solo marketer or a small team tracking one brand that wants daily AI Overview data without much setup. The 15-prompt limit keeps it to one brand and a short list.
Think twice if you'll need many prompts soon, since the jump from 15 to 100 prompts is the jump from €29 to €189. If you'd rather grow into a full SEO suite, SE Ranking's Core plan adds rank tracking and a daily allowance of 100 prompts for €109, and its AI Search add-on extends tracking to AI Mode and ChatGPT.
6. Peec AI: best for in-house teams tracking several countries
Peec AI suits an in-house marketing or SEO team that needs the same AI visibility view across markets. On self-serve plans you choose three models from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI, and prompts run daily. Advanced lists multi-country tracking and a Looker Studio integration.
Its gap analysis lists the sources that name competitors but not you, which gives you a list of sites to pitch as well as a score. AI Overviews takes one of your three model slots, and a fourth model costs from €25 a month on Starter, billed annually.
Key features
Choose three active models on each self-serve plan, including AI Overviews and AI Mode.
See which sources appear often and name competitors but not you.
Filter visibility by model, country and prompt tags.
Give everyone access with unlimited users on every plan.

Annual billing saves 15%.
Who should choose it
Choose Peec AI if you're an in-house team at a brand selling in several countries and you want daily data on a fixed set of three models. The country and tag filters are the reason to pick it. Peec's pricing page lists multi-country tracking only on the €425 Advanced plan, so confirm with Peec whether a smaller plan covers your markets before you budget.
Pass on it if you only track one brand in one market. Otterly starts lower, at €29 for 15 prompts against Peec's €85 for 50, and AI Peekaboo suits agencies with several client brands better.
7. Profound: best for large enterprise companies
Profound is built for large companies that want AI search monitoring alongside a broader set of marketing agents. Enterprise tracks up to 9 answer engines, including Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Claude, with all-time history, CSV and JSON exports, API access, SSO and SOC 2 compliance.
For AI Overviews specifically, its free trial is a useful way in: 50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. That's enough to see the kind of data you'd get before a sales conversation, and our Profound review covers the rest of the platform.
Key features
Track AI Overviews among up to 9 answer engines on Enterprise.
Keep all-time history and export data as CSV or JSON, or pull it through the API.
Pass security reviews with SSO, SAML and SOC 2 compliance.
Measure AI-sourced traffic with Agent Analytics integrations for Cloudflare, Vercel, Google Analytics and others.

Profound fits a large company where marketing, SEO and brand teams all need one view of how AI search describes them, with SSO, SAML, SOC 2, API access and all-time exports for the people who audit it.
Skip it if you want to start small or price a list of client brands yourself. AI Peekaboo starts at $30 a month and Otterly at €29.
8. AIclicks: best for small marketing teams that fix gaps themselves
AIclicks combines tracking with tools to act on what you find. You pick the models you track, including Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and every plan includes AI-optimized articles each month plus its Clicky agent, which suggests content updates, new content and outreach.
That mix suits a small team without a separate content budget. You see where AI Overviews leave you out, then use the included articles and agent to work on it. Starter is tight, though: 30 prompts, 1 website and 1 country.
Key features
Choose 3, 4 or 6 models depending on the plan, from a list that includes Google AI Overviews and AI Mode.
Get 5, 15 or 30 AI-optimized articles a month, depending on the plan.

Who should choose it
Choose AIclicks if you're a small marketing team that wants tracking and content help in one subscription, and you'll write and update pages yourself.
Skip it if you already have writers or an agency doing the content work. In that case you're paying for articles you don't need, and Otterly (from €29) or AI Peekaboo (from $30) cover tracking alone for less to start with, though Otterly Lite caps you at 15 prompts.
How to choose an AI Overview tracker
Match the tool to your team first. Agencies need a separate brand for each client, SEO teams need AI Overview data next to their keywords, and a single brand needs a plan that checks its key searches often enough. Then compare on these points:
Tracking method: keywords you already track (an SEO suite) or buyer questions you choose (a prompt tracker).
Brands and clients: the number you'll track in six months, since per-domain and per-project pricing grows with a client list.
How often you check: at least weekly.
What you can do with the data: cited sources behind every score, so a number becomes a page to update or a site to pitch.
Reporting: share links or white-label reports, and the plan they need.
I'd check at least weekly. Ahrefs, which sells its own tracker, studied more than 43,000 keywords over a month for its AI Overview volatility study, published in November 2025. It found a 70% chance that an AI Overview changed between consecutive checks, content lasting about 2.15 days on average and nearly half of cited sources new each time. Its checks weren't daily, so it says the real citation change rate is likely much higher.
If two tools still look equal, run your real searches through both and keep the one whose data you'd put in front of a client.
Can you track AI Overviews for free?
Yes, for spot checks, and to a limited extent for ongoing tracking. Free checkers show what an AI Overview says right now, so one check can't tell you whether you're gaining or losing ground. The exception is Semrush's free plan, which includes Position Tracking with AI Overview data for the keywords you track, within the free plan's limits.
A few free options cover most needs at the start:
The Google AI Overview checker from AI Peekaboo shows whether a search triggers an AI Overview, whether it mentions your brand and which sources it cites.
Ahrefs' free AI Overviews tracker gives a limited preview of how AI Overviews mention and cite your brand, with no sign-up.
SE Ranking lets you check 5 keywords a day for free.
Search Console shows clicks and impressions from AI Overviews inside the Performance report, mixed in with other results, but not whether an AI Overview named you.
Free trials give you a short window of real tracking: 14 days with SE Ranking, a 14-day card-backed trial on eligible AI Peekaboo plans, 7 days with Otterly and 7 days of daily prompts with Profound.
You can also do it by hand. Pick 20 searches your buyers use, check them once a week in a clean browser, and note who gets named and which pages Google cites. It's slow, and it breaks down once you add a second brand, but it shows you which searches matter before you pay. Our guide on how to track brand mentions in AI Overviews walks through that method.
Which AI Overview tracker should you pick?
Pick AI Peekaboo if you track AI Overviews for several client brands, and SE Ranking, or the AI Overview tracking already in your Semrush plan, if you track your own site inside an SEO suite. Small teams that want daily checks should start with Otterly, brands in several countries with Peec AI, category researchers with Ahrefs and large enterprises with Profound.
Before you pay, run your top searches through the Google AI Overview checker for a baseline on Google. If clients also ask about chat assistants, the free AI visibility checker adds a one-time snapshot of how ChatGPT and Gemini answers name your brand, which competitors appear alongside you and which sources they cite.

Frequently asked questions
How do you track AI Overviews?
Pick the searches or prompts your buyers use, then check whether Google's AI Overview mentions your brand and which pages it cites. You can do it by hand for a few searches, use a free checker for spot checks, or use a tracker that runs them on a schedule and keeps the history.
Is there a free AI Overview tracker?
Yes, but mostly for spot checks. Free checkers such as AI Peekaboo's Google AI Overview checker, Ahrefs' free AI Overviews tracker and SE Ranking's 5 free keyword checks a day show one moment in time, while Semrush's free plan includes AI Overview data in Position Tracking within its limits. Prompt tracking across several AI platforms needs a paid tool or a free trial.
Does Search Console show AI Overview data?
Not as its own report. Google counts traffic from AI Overviews inside the Performance report, under the Web search type, together with the rest of your search results. That shows clicks and impressions, but not whether a specific AI Overview named your brand.
How often should you check AI Overviews?
At least weekly. AI Overviews change often, so a monthly check can miss changes that matter. Daily checks make sense for your most important searches or when a client is watching closely.
Start with your own visibility.
See where your brand appears in AI answers and which competitors get mentioned.
