AI Search Visibility Tools that offer a free trial
AI Peekaboo, Promptwatch and Surfer are AI Search Visibility tools that offer a free trial. In this article we are going to review some AI Search Visibility tools that offer a free trial, and which ones don’t.
Which AI Search Visibility Tools offer a free trial?
There are more than 100 AI Search Visibility tools in the market (probably more than 200, but we only counted 100+ so far). We are going to review 6 of them, 3 that offer a free trial and 3 that don’t.
Peekaboo (aipeekaboo.com)
Peekaboo offers a 7-day free trial. If you contact the team, you can often extend that trial up to a month. After the trial, pricing starts at $50/month for the base plan aimed at smaller agencies and brands. The value here is that you get full visibility into how your brand is appearing in AI answers (share of voice mentions analytics, competitor benchmarking, prompt tracking) plus white labeling so you can present the tool as your own.

Promptwatch
Promptwatch offers a “trial” in the sense that for a very low amount (e.g., $1) you can test the tool before committing. After the trial or initial test-period, pricing starts from around $100/month for entry plans (tracking brand mentions across AI models). For larger packages the cost goes up (e.g., $200/month+). It gives you solid visibility monitoring but less white-label or agency-multi-client focus than Peekaboo from our view.

Surfer AI Tracker
Surfer’s AI Tracker offers access via its main platform’s trial, allowing you to test how your brand is surfaced in AI answers through Surfer’s ecosystem. After trial, pricing depends on Surfer plan plus the AI Tracker add-on. For example, Surfer content/SEO plans start from ~$89/month and the AI Tracker add-on is layered on top. If you’re already using Surfer for content this makes sense, but pure visibility-tracking standalone value may be less.

Which AI Search Visibility Tools don’t offer a free trial?
Profound
Profound does not list a free trial for its full suite. Pricing for their standard plans starts at $499/month for the “Lite” self-serve plan. Enterprise custom pricing is higher depending on number of brands, prompts tracked, integrations, etc. This tool is deeply feature rich but it demands budget and team readiness.

Ahrefs Brand Radar
Brand Radar is included in Ahrefs’ ecosystem. There is no dedicated free trial just for Brand Radar; you must be on a paid Ahrefs plan first. The entry plan of Ahrefs (Lite) which includes Brand Radar starts around $129/month (for Brand Radar access) when billed monthly. The full Ahrefs suite pricing is higher depending on features.

Semrush AI SEO Toolkit
The Semrush AI SEO Toolkit is not strictly offered with a free trial for most users (you can view demos). The pricing is $99/month per domain for the Toolkit add-on. You’ll also need a Semrush subscription to use it effectively, which adds to cost. This tool is valuable, but for visibility tracking alone the investment is higher.

Which AI Search Visibility tool should I test?
If you want to test something quickly, with low cost and get a strong sense of your brand’s visibility in AI answers, start with Peekaboo. The 7-day trial gives you enough time to see how your brand is mentioned, track share of voice, and use white-label exports if you’re an agency.
If you just want a simple check without full features, Promptwatch allows you to do a quick test at low cost before committing. If you already use Surfer and manage content heavily inside it, Surfer AI Tracker is a natural add-on to test your AI answer visibility inside your content workflow.
For tools without trials, like Profound, Ahrefs Brand Radar, and Semrush AI SEO Toolkit, only commit if you have budget, multiple brands or domains to track, and you’re ready for deeper analytics rather than just visibility checks.
From our experience, most agencies and growing brands get the best mix of trial access, cost and actionable recommendations by starting with Peekaboo. Once you understand your visibility gap, you can evaluate whether a heavier investment makes sense.
