AI search is no longer just an acronym or hype, it's a reality for a lot of businesses and there's plenty of data to back that up.
Vercel’s founder reported that 10% of their signups are coming from ChatGPT. Tally has reported that over one quarter of their users in 2025 came from LLMs. Businesses are experiencing a huge change in how users are actually discovering their brands. So if you think AI search, LLM, whatever you want to call it, is just an acronym or just SEO, I'd say you're wrong.
Businesses growing because of AI Search
In this article, we’ll go through some real-life examples of companies that are seeing big success from AI search and highlight some of the best practices you can use to optimize for AI engines.
Vercel
Guillermo Rauch, Vercel’s founder, mentioned on X that as of April 2025, 10% of all their new signups were coming from ChatGPT. That’s an insane number. He also said this was up 4.8% from March 2025.

Tally
Tally, the Belgian-based bootstrap competitor to Typeform, is another great example. Their CEO, Marie, mentioned that one in four of their new users was coming from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other AI models. This helped them grow from 2 to 3 million in ARR.
That said, she later posted that their traffic from ChatGPT and other models dropped significantly after the initial spike.

Webflow
Webflow is another great example of a company that's really growing a lot because of AEO and AI search. They reported that growth from AI search platforms has 4x’d in 6 months, going from 2% of new signups in October 2024 to 8% in June 2025.
One of the ways Webflow optimized for AI search was by regularly updating their existing blog content. They used AirOps to scale this process and improve how their content shows up in AI answers.
How to show up in AI answers
Ranking in AI answers is different from SEO, but there’s a lot of overlap. If you’re already good at SEO fundamentals, you’re more likely to show up in AI answers too.
That said, here are some best practices to improve your chances:
Make sure your content is fresh and updated
There’s plenty of research and case studies showing that fresh content, meaning recently created or updated, has a higher chance of being picked up by AI models. Start by reviewing your existing content and updating it. Use SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or whatever you prefer to find trending keywords and refresh your old posts. This is low-hanging fruit you should absolutely take advantage of.
Use proper heading structure
Make sure your H1s, H2s, and H3s are logical and structured. Your H1 should be the main keyword-focused title. H2s should connect to the title, often framed as questions. This helps both SEO and AI visibility.
Leverage Reddit
Reddit is one of the most cited sources across all AI engines. Research from multiple companies, plus our own data at Peekaboo, shows Reddit is consistently among the top domains referenced.
If you want your brand to show up in AI answers and boost visibility overall, engage meaningfully in relevant Reddit communities. Do not just drop sales pitches, it will backfire. Instead, have a proper strategy, add value, and contribute authentically.
In fact, Reddit was how we acquired our first customers at Peekaboo. It generated over 3,000 users for us in three months, so we know firsthand how powerful it can be.
What’s the first thing I should do to show up in AI answers?
The truth is generative engine optimization (or answer engine optimization, whatever you call it) is still a black box. Everyone is testing and learning what works.
The key is to just get started. For us, Reddit was a proven, reliable growth channel. If you don’t know where to start, use Reddit. It’s technically simple to begin, but you’ll need a strategy for how to engage and add value before pitching your product.
If you already have SEO experience, start by updating your existing blog content so it’s fresh. AI models tend to favor newer content. And when you create new blog content, make sure your heading structure is clean and logical.
